The Eyre Bird Observatory was established in 1997 as Australia's first bird observatory by Birds Australia. It is located 686 Km east of Esperance via National Route 1 and National Highway 1. It requires a 4 wheel-drive vehicle to access. You can stay as a boarder being looked after by volunteer caretakers who provide bed and board. Alternately people can visit for the day.
